I am learning how to knit. It is fun!

At first, I did not think that I would ever understand how to knit, but now I am making progress. I can knit while watching television. Sometimes when I am stressed, knitting for 45 minutes to an hour helps.

‘Knot’ just anyone gives you something hand knitted, no matter what the final result, that knitted gift was just that – a gift! Hours went into making that gift – hours of time, patience and love. Not counting the cost of the yard and the persistence involved, a knitted gift is a real gift.

I believe that some of the best gifts are those that are hand-made like a knitted scarf, homemade cookies, or any other gift in which we invest our energy and time.

I do not think that you would want to wear with pride anything I knit just yet, but maybe someday.

As you prepare your gift list for your special Valentine, perhaps you will consider making something for your special someone, as well as a gift you pick out at the store.

As long as we are on the subject of love and appreciation, I hope that you will be thankful for the Creator of love and of you and me – our Heavenly Father. He gave us life. He gave us love. And He gives us a multitude of gifts every day, if we just open our eyes to see them.

Have a blessed Valentine’s Day! Remember your Father in heaven, who loves you very much! Have a wonderful one!
