Johnny Jones, 93, of Kenton died Feb. 1, 2011, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services were set for 2 p.m. today at Leitherland Funeral Home in Rutherford, with burial following in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Kenton.
The Rev. Bob Conley was to officiate, assisted by the Rev. Mark Abbott.
He was born Dec. 28, 1917, son of the late Charles Penn and Ruth Lee (Miller) Jones. He was married to Lenell Jones, who survives, and was a retired farmer and member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran who served in B Troop of the 112th Cavalry Regiment and saw combat in New Britain, New Guinea and the Philippines.
Survivors also include his son, Dennis Ray Jones of Kenton; his daughter, Barbara Henry of Nashville; two grandchildren, Vince McGraw and Eric McGraw; his brother, Edgar Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Lynn Jones, and four sisters.
