Betty Sue Hamm, 61, of Obion died Feb. 2, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City after an extended illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with the Rev. Perry Grills officiating. Burial will follow there in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hamm, Tim Hamm, Eric Hamm, Mark Hale, Brian Hale and Steve Darnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryant Hamm, Ashton Hamm, Dawson Hamm and Terry Hamm.
The family requests that memorials be made to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital, 50 North Dunlap St., Memphis, TN 38103; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
She was born in the Elbridge community March 7, 1949, daughter of the late Linley I. and Bertha Rea (Hanes) Jones. She was a homemaker and a member of Faithway Baptist Church in Troy.
Mrs. Hamm is survived by her husband, Bill Hamm; three sons, Tim Hamm of Troy, Eric Hamm of Sweetwater and Robbie Hamm of Obion; three sisters, Joann Dickson and Jeanette Jackson, both of Obion, and Linda Friess of Union City; her brother, Cecil Jackson of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Ray Jones.
