OC girls still No. 4
in latest AP poll

Obion Central’s girls remained at No. 4 as the Top 5 teams remained unchanged in the latest Associated Press Class 2A state rankings that were released Monday.
The Lady Rebels (23-3) won their seventh straignt game just hours after the poll came out with a double-overtime triumph over two-time reigning state champion Gibson County.
After playing at Milan tonight and at home vs. Haywood on Friday, Central has a late-season showdown with third-ranked Liberty (20-1) on Saturday night as part of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Troy.
Unbeaten Elizabethton and McMinn Central continue to hold down the top two spots in the double-A girls’ rankings.
OC’s 13AA rival and closest district pursuer, Dyersburg, inched up a spot for the second straight week and now stands at No. 6.
A complete listing of the polls from all classifications can be found on page 9 of today’s sports section.
