Union City’s Huddle House has reopened under new ownership.
Matthew Flynn and his business partner, Cody Harrell, have reopened the local Huddle House off West Reelfoot Avenue. Both have experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Flynn lives in Memphis and Harrell lives in Tunica, Miss. They were fraternity brothers at Ole Miss.
Both graduated with bachelor of accountancy degrees.
The Union City franchise is the first partnership venture for the two friends and they are excited about the new business opportunity.
Flynn was introduced to the restaurant business by his father-in-law, who has more than 30 years experience in the restaurant business.
The partners plan to open multiple Huddle House restaurants over the next year.
“We’re interested in us and our manager getting involved in the community,” Harrell said.
The local Huddle House is now being managed by Sarah Mobbs of Union City.
One of the goals of the new partnership is to take the customer service and the meals served at Huddle House to the next level, according to Flynn.
Huddle House Inc. is an Atlanta-based family diner chain with more than 400 locations located in 17 states.
The full-service family diner chain is primarily located in the Southeast, Midwest and Southwest.
The 46-year-old franchise operates diners that are typically open 24-hours and is recognized for serving “Any Meal. Any Time.”
The Huddle House menu features a variety of signature dishes, including the Big House Breakfast, omelets, lunch platters, steaks and salads.
