Chris Sanders, who played for the Tennessee Titans for eight years and, as a college student, broke Jesse Owens’ long jump record, will be the featured speaker at the Men’s Conference for Beulah, Dyer and Gibson Baptist associations. Sanders is a counselor, football and track coach at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville.
The conference will begin at 6 p.m. Friday and continue Saturday, beginning with a breakfast at 7 a.m., at Union City Second Baptist Church at 831 North Everett Blvd.
The Gibson Baptist Association speaker will be Corey Meggs of New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Mallonee of Union City Second Baptist Church as the Beulah Baptist Association speaker. Barry Keathley will be leading praise and worship, along with Brotherhood and the Second Baptist Praise and Worship teams.
