Woodland, Troy LLs
to sign up Monday

Woodland and Troy Little League baseball sign-ups for ages 4-12 will be held Monday.
The W’land sign-ups will take place at the Woodland Civic Center from 5-7 p.m.
Troy registrations will be taken from 5-7 at the Troy Community Center.
Fees for the youngsters registering will be collected at a later date.

Martin softball league
taking registrations

The Martin Girls Softball League will be accepting registrations from now until Feb. 26.
The fee to play is $45 per player and the league is open to girls ages 5-18.
Registration forms can be downloaded online at www.martinparksandrecreation.org.
League Volunteers will also be at Martin Middle School and Martin Elementary School on Feb. 26 to accept sign-ups.
The registration period MMS is set for 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., while the sign-up time at MES is to be from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m during the Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast.

Murray St. survives
scare at SIU-E’ville

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Ed Daniel pulled down 14 rebounds and scored eight points to help Murray State take a 67-61 victory over SIU-Edwardsville on Wednesday night.
The Racers (14-6) went ahead for good with about 3 1/2 minutes to go when Daniel made a layup to make it 60-58.
B.J. Jenkins led Murray State with 14 points while Isacc Miles and Isaiah Canaan each added 10.
The Cougars (5-18) led by as many as five points midway through the second half, but the Racers made a 10-0 run to pull ahead. The Cougars tied it once more down the stretch but never led again.
Cornelius Chatt led the game in scoring with 24 points for SIU-Edwardsville while Corey Wickware added 16. Nikola Bundalo pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds for the Cougars.
Murray State hosts UT Martin on Saturday in both women’s and men’s action.
