Fellowship event set
The United Church of the Living God at 609 Martin Luther King Drive in Fulton will host a fellowship program Sunday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. James Jones and his congregation from Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Woodland Mills as special guests. The pastor, Elder Margaret Pettigrew, and the congregation invite the community to attend.

Bible study planned
The Tuesday morning ladies bible study will focus on “Breaking Free” by Beth Moore Tuesday from 9:30-11 at the Etheridge House at 701 Sherrill St. in Union City. Classes will continue on a weekly basis. The workbook fee is $15. Pam Murphy will be the study leader.

Fellowship to meet
The Obion County Ministerial Fellowship will meet Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church on East College Street in Union City.
The Rev. Albert McCadney will be host pastor. He and the Rev. Curtis McLendon, president of the fellowship, welcome all who are interested.

Gospel singing set
Brian Free and Assurance will be singing at Rutherford First Baptist Church Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. There is no ticket price, but a love offering will be accepted.

Free is one of the most recognized Southern Gospel tenor singers of the generation and since 1982 has been in the forefront of the genre.
He began his career with Gold City Quartet and then formed his own group, Brian Free and Assurance. The group appears on several Bill Gaither Homecoming videos.
Free has been named Favorite Male Singer by fans, who also voted him Favorite Tenor eight times, in addition to honoring him as Favorite Young Artist. The group has also received recognition as Horizon Group in 1994 and as the group responsible for the Favorite Album, “For God So Loved the World,” in 1998.
Joining Free will be lead singer Bill Shivers, baritone singer Derrick Selph and bass singer Jeremy Lile.

Prayer session set
Union City First Baptist Church is announcing the monthly prayer session for Sunday. The topic will be “Praying for the Children of Our Church” and Carol Ingersoll and Josie Bowlin will give a short talk on what prayer has meant in the lives of their children. This event is planned in the congregation’s old sanctuary at 9:15 a.m.
Morning worship will be at 10:45 and evening worship at 6, with interim pastor Dr. Cecil Sewell bringing the message and completing a series on stewardship of money, time and talents.
The church is located at 500 East Church St.

To serve ‘soul’
Exchange Street Church of Christ is hosting Soul Food Café  Wednesday at the church at 420 East Exchange St. in Union City.
February is Heart Month and free blood pressure checks will be performed.
The meal will include pulled barbecue, baked beans, corn on the cob, cole slaw  and desserts.
As always, the meal is free.
Food will be served from 5:30-7 p.m.
