1. Thunder @ Panther

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Middle School gymnasium. In the first quarter, Thunder’s players Chase Spencer and Dallas Laney scored a total of 5 points. For Panthers, Dillon Moss scored 4 points, including a 3 pointer, and Skylar McCroskey scored 5 points, including a 3 pointer. In the second quarter, Brandon Butler scored 3 points, Laney scored 2 points, Will Erwin scored 1 point , and Zach Jones scored 2 points for Thunder. McCrosky scored 2 points, and Tyler McClure scored 9 points for the Panthers. The third quarter was good for Thunder, but bad for the Panthers. Thunder’s Spencer, Laney, and Erwin scored a total of 15 points. For Panthers, Keilan Rooks scored 2 points. In the fourth quarter, Summer Long got a rebound, and Erwin and Jones scored for Thunder. Hunter Todd got a steal, and McCroskey and McClure scored 9 total points. The end score was 34-33 for Thunder.

2. Heat @ Bulls

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Middle School gymnasium. In the first quarter, the Bulls scored 0 points and Heat’s Colin Stricklin, Harrison Capps, and Lucas Maxey scored 2 points each. The second quarter picked up a bit for the Bulls with Michael Park and Reed Rooks scoring a point each. Also, Andrew You had ball-handling skills. For Heat, Bruce Hicks and Dylan Sullivan scored a point each and Capps scoring 3 points. The third quarter kept the same pace for the Bulls with Rooks scoring 2, and Jared Wortham and Michael Woolridge had good defense. Heat also kept the same pace with Stricklin scoring 2 and Capps scoring 4 points. Also, Angelo Malacapy and Christopher Pinto had good effort. In the fourth quarter, Rooks scored 2 again bringing the Bulls final score to 6 points. For Heat, Sullivan scored 6 and Capps scored 2. Heat beat Bulls 25-6. 

3. Celtics @ Thunder

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Middle School gymnasium. In the first quarter, Thunder’s Will Erwin scored 5 points (including a 3 pointer), and Zach Jones scored 2 points. Celtics’s Dylan McClanahan and Ryan Mathney scored a total of 5 points. In the second quarter, Brandon Butler and Dallas Laney cored a free throw and Jones scored 2 points. The following Celtics players scored: Jordan Hazlewood, Nathan Williamson, Mathney, McClanahan (including a three pointer). The third quarter was slow for both teams. Erwin scored 4 points, and Summer Long gave her best effort throughout the game for Thunder. For the Celtics, McClanahan scored 3, Hazlewood scored 2, Nathan Maya scored 1, Williamson scored 1, and James Pritchett had several shot attempts. In the fourth quarter, Chase Spenser scored 5 points and Erwin shot a 3 pointer for Thunder; furthermore, McClanahan, Hazlewood, and Maya scor ed 2 for the Celtics. The game ended in a 29-24 win for the Celtics.
4. Red Raptors @ TN Crush

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Middle School gymnasium. In the first quarter, Michael Long scored 4 points and Mason Pyrdon assisted to Parker Bell for 2 points for the Red Raptors. LaDarius Alley scored a whopping 10 points for TN Crush. Th second quarter was all free throws and defense. Red Raptors’ Pyrdon and Long scored free throws and Aubrey Bynum had good shot attempts. For TN Crush, Joshua Floyd and Alley scored free throws; also, Dalton Moore, Gaige Robey, Jaxson Hazlewood, and Malek Jones had defensive positioning. In the third quarter, Long scored 3 points for the Red Raptors. Clay Cantrell and Malik Roberson scored 2 point each, and Alley scored 6 points for TN Crush. In the fourth quarter, Red Raptors tried to catch up to TN Crush but just couln’d make it agaisnst TN Crush’s powerhouse, Alley. Bennet Fuqua and Donovan Spivey each scored 2 points, and Long scored 4. For T N Crush, both Alley and Roberson scored 2 points. TN Crush won 26-19.

5. Boise @ Hoop Squad

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Middle School gymnasium. In the first quarter Boise’s Alex Deal and Lou Rechis scored 2 points, and Jordan Sullivan hit a 3 pointer. For Hoop Squad, Davon Trice and Malik Pogue scored 2 points each. In the second quarter Jimmy Woodson scored 5 points, Sullivan scored 2 and Rechis scored 3 for Boise. Jaylen Michell and Pogue both scored 3 points. The 3rd quarter is when the Hoop Squad took the lead and Boise shut down. Bosie’s lone point came from Rechis, but Ethan Garcia had a good shot attempt. Hoop Squad’s Cameron Trice, Mitchell, and Pogue scored a total of 11 points. Also, Abdulla Obadat, Mikey Neilson, and Tynell Lovins had good defense. In the fourth quarter, Deal hit a 3 pointer, and Rechis had 4 points for Boise. Hoop Squad’s C. Trice scored 2 points, Mitchell scored 4, and Pogue scored 4. The final score of the game was 31-25, Hoop Squad won.

6. Dream Team @ Red Raptors

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Middle School gymnasium. The first quarter for Dream Team started amazingly with Matt McMillan shooting three 3 pointers in a row, and Nolan Bigham scoring 4 points. For Red Raptors, Michael Long scored 3 points. The second quarter followed the same pattern as the first for the Dream Team. McMillan scored 8 points, including another 3 pointer, and Barrett Linhoss made a free-throw. Red Raptors’ Long scored 10 points, and Aubrey Bynum and Bennett Fuqua both scored free-throws. For Dream Team, in the third quarter, Reed Chandler scored 2 points, and McMillan scored 13 points, including a 3 pointer. Parker Bell scored 2 points, and Donovan Spivey had good effort throught the game for the Red Raptors. In the fourth quarter, Ethan Gallien scored 4 points. Cole Sullivan, Dylan Parks, and Seth Mitchell had good defense for the Dream Team. For Red Raptors, Mas on Pyrdom scored 2 points and Long scored 6 points. The Dream Team won 45-25.

7. Orange Swoosh vs. Heat 

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Elementary School gymnasium. In the first quarter, Valessa Jackson scored 4 points for Orange Swoosh. For Heat, Kyera Thompson scored 2. In the second quarter, Hannah McCroskey had 3 points, and Summer Villasica had 2 for Orange Swoosh. 0 points were scored for Heat. In the third quarter, Alexis Beam scored a free-throw. Autumn Long, Hallie Arnold, Kallie Pruiett, and Tiarra Jackson had shot attpmts for Orange Swoosh. For Heat, Emma Taylor, Hannah Grace Garner, and Lauren Beverly all scored a free-throw, Zanasha Gadlen scored 2 points, and Alyssa Duncan had a shot attempt. In the fourth quarter, V. Jackson scored 1 point for Orange Swoosh, and Gadlen scored 2 points for Heat. Orange Swoosh beat Heat 14-9.

8. Thunder vs. Livewire

On Saturday, the Martin Parks and Recreation Youth League Basketball games were held at the Martin Elementary School gymnasium. In the first quarter, Thunder’s Anna Hazlewood and Raegan Johnson scored 2 points, and Emma Kelly scored a free-throw. Livewire scored 0 points. In the second quarter, Thunder’s Hazlewood, Johnson, and Blaine McDonald scored 2 points. For Livewire, Madison Summers had a shot attempt. In the third quarter, McDonald, Johnson, and Lauren Hester scored a free-throw for Thunder, and Kelly scored 2. Brittany Fabian, Caroline Schuster, and Morgan Bessent had shot attempts. For Livewire, no one scored, but Caroline Perry, Jada Briggs, Leah Thedford, and Naomi Griffin had shot attempts. In the fourth quarter, for Thunder, Johnson scored 2 points. For Livewire, Anna Yott scored the only point of the game. The final score of the game was 18-1.
