Larry Bumpus Posted: Monday, January 24, 2011 2:23 pm The Messenger, January 24, 2011 Larry Allen Bumpus, 49, of Union City died Jan. 23, 2011, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Ron Newberry officiating. Burial will follow there in Terrace Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Rodney Tipps, Triston Noel, Tyler Wagster, Tyler Bolton, Jamie Wilcutt, Michael Ladd, Chris Tipps, Billy Lynch, Jason Magness and Josh Magness. The family requests that memorials be made to Troy Church of Christ. He was born Sept. 13, 1961, in Obion County, son of Minnie Eddie (Walker) Bumpus of Union City and the late Bobby Gene Bumpus. He married the former Darlene Tipps Aug. 25, 1986. She survives. He had worked at Tyson Foods and had also been employed at Carey Counseling Center, both in Union City, and he was a U.S.D.A. food inspector. He was a member of Troy Church of Christ. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Michael Ladd of Obion; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Brant Bumpus and Brian and Melinda Pollock, all of Obion, and Jeromy and Cynthia Pollock of Rives; 11 grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Beth Ann and Robert Glass of Virginia; his brother and sister-in-law, Barry Dale and Theresa Bumpus of Troy; his niece; seven nephews; three great nieces; and three great nephews.
