Completed arrangements are being announced for Shirley Demetrius Riddle, 68, of Samburg, who died 10:54 p.m. Jan. 19, 2011, at her home.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Independent Baptist Church, with the Revs. Eric Burress and Carl Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Brian Bartz, Chris Basham, Eric Burress, Chris McNeill, Darrell Butler and Mark Butler Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold D. Riddle, Gary Holt and Marlow Smith.
The family will receive friends at the church at 6665 Push Road near Hornbeak today from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of services.
Mrs. Riddle was born April 18, 1942, in Pemiscot County, Mo., daughter of the late James Otis and Mary Lucille (Barbee) Burress. She married Will Edd Riddle Dec. 24, 1958. He died Sept. 19, 2009. Mrs. Riddle was a homemaker and attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Neely of Samburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jo Ann Riddle of Union City, Jeff and Angela Riddle of Hornbeak and William and Beth Riddle of Samburg; eight grandchildren, Shaina Quick and Gage Riddle, both of Hornbeak, Brian Bartz, Stephenie Basham, Hanna-Grace Neely, Ryleigh Riddle and Madisyn Riddle, all of Samburg, and Dylan Riddle of Union City; five great grandchildren, Chance Basham, Baylee Basham, Brianna Bartz and Isbella Bartz, all of Samburg, and Noah Elizabeth Quick of Hornbeak; her sister, Sheila Smith of Tiptonville; and her brother, James Burress of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rhonda Tucker and Jeanette Lovell; and her brother, David Burress.
