Glynn Ray Quarles, 79, of Martin died Jan. 18, 2011, at the home of his daughter, Joayce Rae Ferrell of Martin.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin, with the Rev. Mace Jett officiating. Burial will follow in Martin at East Side Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buster Ferrell, Jesse Ferrell, Jacob Ferrell, Brian Matthews, Kenny Sutherland and Danny Black.
Friends may call at the funeral home 4-7 p.m. today.
He was born Dec. 4, 1931, in Weakley County, son of the late Cecil and Stella (Tutor) Quarles. He was the widower of Joyce (Crowell) Quarles and was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and a farmer. He was a member of Martin First Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his son, Tommy Quarles of Martin; two grandchildren, Glynn “Buster” Ferrell and Jesse Thomas Ferrell; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Ferrell and Allie Ferrell.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vanita Southerland and Mildred Quarles.
