Anticipation is growing as the date nears for “DSCC’s Got Talent.”
The competition — featuring all sorts of performances by members of the Dyersburg State Community College faculty and staff — will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the First Citizens National Bank Auditorium of the Campus Activity Building on the Dyersburg campus.
To kick off the competition, “Sonny and Cher,” also known as Dr. Mary Ann Sellars and DSCC President Dr. Karen Bowyer, will give an encore performance. They made their highly-touted debut in April in response to a fund-raising challenge and have been persuaded to perform one more time to support the fund-raising effort that benefits DSCC students participating in the International Studies Program.
Other performers from the DSCC faculty and staff are slated to include Rodney Alford, Melinda Evans, Teresa Adams, Ken Jones, Ken Teutsch, Dawn Sanks, Tim Montgomery, Rian Puckett and Maleia Lee, along with others to be named.
Vince Haymon, Joe Emery and Birgit Northcutt have accepted the task of providing critiques and judging the competition. Master and mistress of ceremonies will be Bill and Judy Boehmler.
“DSCC’s Got Talent” is open to the public. Tickets may be purchased for a minimum $10 donation. To reserve a ticket, contact Constance Clay at (731) 286-3349 in the Office of Institutional Advancement, located in the Eller Administration Building.
