The Hyndsver Flower Fund for 2011 is due and payable until March 1. All former or current residents or friends of citizens in the Hyndsver Community are invited to participate. Leadership Jackson Alumni Association will hold a workshop on understanding and preventing child abuse from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3 at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 1627 North Highland Ave. in Jackson.
The event is open to the public and free to attend. This workshop is ideal for childcare workers, church children’s ministry volunteers, social workers, teachers and anyone who works with children.

The Dresden Senior Citizens Center is selling tickets for $1 each on a beautiful sweetheart basket valued at $85. The basket will be given away on Thursday, Feb. 10 and you do not have to be present to win. Items in the basket include lunch for two at the Hearth Restaurant, hair cut by Aimee at The Headquarters, two salon hairsprays, massage, shoes, lotions, bath oils, bath massage crystals, Russell Stover heart box candy and much, much more.

“Day of Heart”
The West Tennessee Women’s Center and the West Tennessee Heart and Vascular Center at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital invite you to put on your dancing shoes and get out on the dance floor for a fun day of education, health screenings and dance instruction. The “Day of Heart” will be Saturday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
This is a free event at the Old Hickory Mall in Jackson.
The Dresden Senior Center Presents Washington DC’s Cherry Blossom Time March 28 – April 2, and would like to invite you to join us on this beautiful tour. This is a six-day and five-night trip that will be very interesting especially since it is during the Cherry Blossom season. We will depart from the Dresden Senior Center, 589 Evergreen St. Dresden, at 7 a.m. on March 28 and travel to Roanoke, Va., staying overnight at the Holiday Inn Express. Tour will be traveling with Brantley Bus Line in a deluxe motorcoach and will arrive in Washington, DC for a wonderful week consisting of numerous Historic Places.
