Lisa Barker hired to run JSCC Humboldt Center

Dr. Bruce Blanding, president of Jackson State Community College, is pleased to announce Lisa Barker as the new director of the Humboldt Higher Education Center. 

Barker oversees the administrative functions of the center which include budgeting, scheduling classes, communicating with the main campus, supervising office staff, and advising and registering students. She is also responsible for networking in the community with business, industry, and community leaders.

She brings to the job five years of experience in educational recruiting, enrollment, advising, and financial aid information in the Atlanta area. She is pleased to be able to return home to West Tennessee to continue to help students succeed.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a master’s degree in health and physical education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
