Another frigid, cold, and snowy week has past as we look forward to warmer temperatures and sunshine! We had another fun-filled week of activities and singings enjoyed tremendously by our residents and staff despite the cold, winter weather. Our warm and inviting atmosphere made all residents, staff, and visitors forget about the dreadful weather outside. We welcome anyone to our friendly and warm-filled atmosphere to attend any activity that may be conducted during the week.
During this past week, the residents enjoyed playing BINGO, Country Store, Balloon Toss and Bunco. A sewing class was also held in which the residents continued to make their beautiful quilt. Shepherds Field held a devotional in our dining room on Wednesday. The residents and staff appreciate you coming! On Thursday afternoon, the Martingales held a singing at our facility. They did a wonderful job, and the residents and staff always enjoy their presence and hearing their lovely voices. Thank you for coming! The residents also enjoyed popcorn in the lobby on Friday afternoon which was made by our Activities Director, Jennifer Sykes.
A few upcoming activities next week include BINGO, Country Store, Talk Group, Sewing Class, All About the States, Raise the Roof, Bible Study, and Travel Game. We will also hold our monthly Birthday party for the residents who have a Birthday in the month of January. Cake, ice cream, snacks, and punch will be served at the event. The residents always look forward to celebrating their special day!
A different activity is held in the morning and afternoon every day! In-room activities are also conducted for those residents that are not able to attend the activities held in the dining room. The staff works hard to make sure that each resident is able to participate in activities that are most important to them.
At Van Ayer Healthcare & Rehab, we look forward to providing our residents with fun activities and strive to make our facility feel like home.
