Scholarships Awarded — Three former Obion County Junior Livestock member standouts — (from center and continuing right) Jerrie Carrington, Emily Taylor and Tyler Berner — recently received college scholarships sponsored by First Citizens National Bank. Miss Carrington, the daughter of Wade and Lisa Carrington, is a pre-medical major at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Miss Taylor, daughter of Terry and Denise Taylor, is majoring in social work at UTM. Berner is attending Dyersburg State Community College training to be an emergency medical technician. All three were 2010 graduates of Obion County Central High School. They each successfully completed nine consecutive years of exhibiting livestock through the Obion County Junior Livestock program. After verifying completion of their first semester of college and enrollment for the spring semester, each student received a $500 scholarship. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Joe Ward (left) and Sherry Brown of First Citizens National Bank have sponsored this award.
