Food distribution set Posted: Tuesday, January 18, 2011 4:47 pm The Messenger, January 18, 2011 God’s Storehouse, the food ministry of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at 720 East College St. in Union City, will issue food to preregistered households Thursday morning. Those who are already registered will be served first. Registration of new clients will take place Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the church. New registration will be accepted Thursday if there is enough food, once registered clients have been served. Clients are screened using the agency’s income guidelines and everyone must present proof of residency and proof of income for all adults in a household. Only one adult per household will be eligible to register. The mobile pantry is operated under the agency’s 501(c)(3) exemption in collaboration with Mid-South Food Bank. As always, food is distributed free of charge, without discrimination, on a first-come, first-served basis. |
