Gerald Bradley Reed, 39, of Samburg died 7 a.m. Jan. 16, 2011, at his home.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Troy First Baptist Church, with Dr. Vann Kissell officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive visitors 5-8 p.m. today at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home and from noon until the service hour Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Larry Brown, Brett Ragsdale, Tony Zalsman, Rick Ellis, Rob Stowell and Shane Glisson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Traci Reed, Bobby Houser, Daryl Williams and Gary Sweatt.
The family requests memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 482, Union City TN 38281.
He was born Sept. 27, 1971, in Union City, son of Gerald M. Reed of Samburg and Mary Jane (Thomas) Reed of Tiptonville. He had been employed as an electrical maintenance technician for CECO Door Co. in Milan. He was a member of Troy First Baptist Church and was an avid softball player and golfer. He was a 1989 graduate of Obion County Central High School.
He is also survived by his daughter, Emma Grace Reed of Four Points; his brother, Michael Reed of Tiptonville; his stepmother, Sherry Reed of Samburg; his stepbrother, Kyle Simmons of Hornbeak; his stepsister and her husband, Kim and Mike Bramlett of Nashville; his stepgrandmother, Raynelle McMillon of Obion; his nephew, Blake Simmons of Hornbeak; two nieces, Kealey Bramlett of Nashville and Abigail Simmons of Hornbeak; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nath and Esta Lee Parkerson, Milton Reed and Jake and Earlene Thomas.
