Sue (Walton) Williams, 77, of Newbern, sister of Wes Walton of Obion, died Jan. 8, 2011, at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, with burial following there in Fairview Cemetery.
The Rev. James Hooper will officiate and pallbearers will be Reed Walton Jr., Mickey Butler, Tom Butler, Bill Walton, Joe Welch, Michael Walton, Marvin Wilson and Brad Walton.
The family requests that memorials be made to Emmaus Baptist Church, P.O. Box 831, Dyersburg, TN 38025; or American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
Friends may call at the funeral home 4-7 p.m. today.
She was born Nov. 20, 1933, in Dyer County, daughter of the late Ernest and Maud (Frazier) Walton. She was the widow of Edward Earl Williams and was a homemaker and a retired employee of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. She attended Emmaus Baptist Church and was a member of Mount Tirzah Baptist Church. She was a member of The Red Hats.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim E. and Shelia Williams and Jay W. and Kristi Williams, all of Newbern; her sister, Rebecca Butler of Buena Vista; four brothers, Reed Walton of Trimble, Joe Walton of Pawley’s Island, S.C., Wilber Walton of Newbern and Wes Walton of Obion; a grandson, Conner Walton Williams of Newbern; and two step-grandchildren, Blake Holden and Alec Jackson, both of Newbern.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Wilson and Louise Walton; and her brother, Ernest “Preacher” Walton.
