Completed arrangements are being announced for Richard H. “Dick” Plummer, 79, of Troy, who died Jan. 6, 2011, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Judd Mowery officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery near Cloverdale.
Friends may call at the funeral home 9-11 a.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Smith, Samuel Smith, Clay Smith, Tim Fox, Larry Powers, Chip Cutler and Allen Brown.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Public Library, 1221 East Reelfoot Ave., Union City, TN 38261; or Zion Cemetery Association at 4893 Jim Carver Road, Obion, TN 38240.
He was born March 14, 1931, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, son of the late Henry and Ruth (Smock) Plummer. He married the former Mary Cutler Aug. 26, 1954. She survives. He was a retired electronic engineer and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Troy United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 92 in Trimble and the National Association of Clock Collectors.
He is also survived by two daughters and his son-in-law, Lila Thomas of Nashville and Sarah Plummer and Graham Casey of Pasadena, Calif.; his granddaughter, Stephanie Thomas of San Diego; his sister, Barbara Hall of Manhattan, Ill.; and his aunt, Mim Smock of Council Bluffs.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Miller.
