The Press 1/6

Wednesday night, Dec. 29, started with singing “Ten Thousand Angels,” next we sang “Redemption Draweth Nigh.” Bobby Doughty led in prayer, after which we sang “To God Be The Glory” and “I’ll Be Listening” which was our last congregational song. Bro. Pete asked for prayer requests and announcements. Remember those in need of prayers and remember the Long family in the lost of their loved one. Bro. Billy prayed over these needs. Bro. Pete’s bible study was from James 2:1-14, then he prayed. We then read from Deuteronomy 1:17, Romans 2:1, Ephesians 6:9, Colossians 3:25 and Romans 13: 8-10. Gary Long dismissed us in prayer.

Watch night service was kind of slim, but the Lord was present. Lots and lots of great singing. Bro. Pete brought the message from Joshua 24: 14-15, then he prayed. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. We all met at the altar at midnight and prayed in the New Year. Then we met in the fellowship hall for breakfast. The Lord has richly blessed us in 2010. We sincerely pray that more souls will come to know Jesus in 2011 and be more faithful to be in God’s house.

What a beautiful day to be in God’s house the first Sunday in 2011. We started with singing” Sweet, Sweet Spirit.” Hunter Doughty asked for prayer requests and read from Psalm 39:7-8. Jim Riley led in prayer. Our Sunday school lesson was “A Lifestyle Of Community” from Ephesians 4:4-7, 14-16, 25-32. Bro. Pete dismissed us in prayer.

Our worship service began with singing “When We All Get To Heaven.” Bro. Billy welcomed everyone. We sang happy birthday to Beverly Terrell. Then Ryan Doughty led in prayer. Our next songs were “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder,” “Won’t It Be Wonderful There,” and Barbara Castleman sang “Did You Think To Pray.” Bro. Billy’s message was from Nehemiah 9: 4-5. Stand up and bless the Lord your God forever and ever. Invitation song was “Just As I Am.” Scott Fulcher dismissed us in prayer.

Sunday night service began singing “At The Cross.” Bro. Gerald Wilkerson led in prayer. We then sang “I Am Resolved,” “His Name Is Wonderful” and “Whosoever Meaneth Me.” Bro. Billy welcomed everyone. We still have lots of prayer needs. His sermon was from John 1:1-14. Jim Riley led in prayer. Our invitation hymn was “Only Trust Him.” Bro. Pete Mansfield dismissed us. Visitors are always welcome.
