The Westview Chargers followed up 12 wins in a row with consecutive losses in the 46th Annual Martin Lions Club Christmas Tournament Thursday night.
Westview, playing for third place in the tourney, dropped a 71-65 decision to the Henry County Patriots. The Chargers defeated Henry County, 87-70, when they met on Nov. 20.
In their second meeting, Westview struggled in the first quarter. Henry County’s Brandon Donaldson had no such trouble starting with 10 of his 20 points in the first quarter to help the Pats to a 17-5 lead.
The Chargers cut their deficit to three and four but could never get in the lead, trailing 31-23 at the half, and 51-44 after three.
The Pats hit five 3-pointers in the second half to help hold Westview at bay.
