Completed arrangements are being announced for James Bill Jennings, 62, of Union City, who died Jan. 3, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Dr. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Cemetery near Union City.
Pallbearers will be Mike Sheehan, Bill Franks, Chris Smith, Ralph Woodard, Harry Stinson and Danny Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Brown, Don Wright and Jamie Kemp.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
The family requests that memorials be made to Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church or the American Lung Cancer Association.
He was born March 11, 1948, in Union City, son of the late Alonzo and Beatrice (Smith) Jennings. He married the former Norma Welch Aug. 19, 2004. She survives. He was a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City, where he was employed for 13 years. He had also been employed at AK Steel in Ashland, Ky., for 22 years. A U.S. Army veteran, he attended Beech Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of United Steelworkers Union.
Survivors also include his daughter, Shelley Dickerson of Hanscom, Maine; his son, Brian Jennings of Humble, Texas; two brothers and his sister-in-law, David and Jan Jennings and Jerry Jennings, all of Union City; his sister and brother-in-law, Alyce and Bill Clark of Chesterton, Ind.; three stepchildren and their spouses, Mike and Carol Conner of Altus, Okla., Dana Conner of Paducah, Ky., and Kim and Michael Whitt of Symsonia, Ky.; and seven grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roger Jennings; and his sister, Jan Mosier.
