Jimmie Gerald Pruiett, 71, of Calvert City, Ky., formerly of Fulton and South Fulton, died 5:27 p.m. Jan. 2, 2011, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton, with the Rev. Bobby Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the hour of services.
The family requests that memorials be made to Jackson Chapel Church, in care of Sadie Humphreys, 778 Humphreys Road, Clinton, KY 42031.
He was born June 17, 1939, in Obion County, son of the late James “Pete” and Estelle (Campbell) Pruiett. He married the former Nancy Duke Aug. 14, 2008. She survives. He had lived in Calvert City for the past three years but had been a resident of Fulton and South Fulton most of his life. He was a Baptist and had retired from the Fulton Fire Department and ambulance service with 17 years of service. Following that employment, he had worked for the South Fulton Fire Department for 17 years.
He had also been married to the former Linda Weems of Mayfield, Ky.
Survivors also include his daughter, Kristi Tripp of Mayfield; three sons, Mark Pruiett of Mayfield, Shane Pruiett of Smyrna and David Shannon Pruiett of Martin; his stepson, Tony Potts of Fulton; his stepdaughter, Kelli Jo Bennett of Martin; 11 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jo Ann Green of Paducah and Ruth Hailey of South Fulton.
