Completed arrangements are being announced for Helen Marie (Gipson) Emery, 86, of Union City, who died Jan. 3, 2011, at her home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Green officiating. Entombment will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Billy Craddock, David Blurton, Dave Blurton, Terry Deslitch, Dusty Butler, Butch Hogg, Randy Coker and Bobby Gene Eddington.
The family requests that memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Union City.
She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Crockett County, daughter of the late Ellie and Jannie (East) Gipson. She married Woodrow Emery Oct. 3, 1943. He died Feb. 3, 2001. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a school crossing guard for the Union City Police Department. She had also been an elevator operator for the Durham Building in Memphis.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star and an officer of the former Lioness Club in Union City.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and John Moore and Linda and Bill Coker, all of Union City; her son and daughter-in-law, Woody Emery Jr. and Kim Emery of Union City; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
