Robert Frank Calhoun, 83, of Union City died Jan. 3, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with burial following in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Mickey Hanks will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Forrester, Doug Brewer, Rob Naylor, Randy Lynch, John Cloar and Buddy Wirt. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Rives.
He was born June 22, 1927, in Obion County, son of the late Ira Frank and Iva Bell (Hickman) Calhoun. He married the former Joan May Aug. 11, 1958. She survives.
He had been employed as a shoe cutter at the former Brown Shoe Co. in Union City and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member and served as a deacon at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had also been a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Sandy Calhoun of Union City; his daughter, Kay Hooper of Hornbeak; three grandchildren and the spouse of one, Meghan Morris and Serena and Shane Perry, all of Hornbeak, and Eric Scott Hinson of Union City; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his sister, Demetrie Pepper of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters and his brother.
