DYERSBURG (AP) — Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box says a tip led to the arrest of a man suspected of stealing farm equipment.
Box earlier told The State Gazette his deputies and police in Dyersburg and Newbern were pulling over drivers hauling loads that could be scrap metal and identifying them.
The sheriff says in the case that resulted in the arrest, a witness saw a red pickup with two sections of a plow in the bed. The sheriff says investigators recovered one section of the implement, which had been sold in Evansville, and arrested 27-year-old Jamie Lynn Howard of Dyersburg.
Howard was scheduled for arraignment Monday.
