Greenfield cruised past the visiting Clarksburg Lady Rockets and Rockets on the Yellowjackets’ home court on Dec. 20. The GHS Lady Jackets dominated throughout a 62-10 win over Clarksburg, while the hot-shooting Heath Crouse continued to scorch the nets for Greenfield in a 66-39 win over the Rockets. In the girls game, Greenfield allowed a measly three points in the first half. The Lady Jacket starters saw little time on the court, but made the most of their minutes. Senior starter Jordan Galey poured in 13 points, all in the first quarter. GHS head coach Willie Trevathan played every Greenfield girl that dressed out. Kalee Kesterson came off the bench to tally 11 points for Greenfield in the win. In the boys game, Heath Crouse continued his torrid scoring pace with 30 points, drilling a trio of early 3-pointers as the Jackets blazed ahead 18-8 after a quarter. Wes Clark pitched in a long-range shot in both the first and second quarters and then added a pair of treys in the third for the bulk of his 15 points. After taking a week-long break to celebrate Christmas, the Greenfield teams headed to Huntingdon to participate in the Point Guard Classic on Monday afternoon. Camden’s Lady Lions and Lions provided little resistance to the Greenfield squads. The Lady Jackets had little trouble in picking up a 59-26 win over Camden, while the Greenfield boys worked their way to a 78-43 win over Camden. In the girls game, Greenfield poured in the game’s first 13 points and never looked back. Again Galey led the way for GHS with 19 points, while Shameilla McMullen contributed eight points in the GHS win. For the Greenfield guys, Crouse (18 points) and Clark (21 points) again provided a potent one-two punch. Crouse is averaging 21 points per outing in his five most recent games. Defensively, the Jackets limited Camden to eight points in the opening frame, while tallying 19 to build an insurmountable lead. Point Guard Classic BOYS Dec. 20 at Greenfield BOYS None
