Joseph B. Holland, 85, of Warren, Mich., a former resident of Hickman, Ky., died Dec. 25, 2010.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Strong Funeral Home in Hickman, with Steve Coulson officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the hour of services Monday.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hickman First Christian Church, 108 Carr St., Hickman, KY 42050.
He was born Dec. 26, 1924, in Hickman, son of the late Clardi Neal and Lillian Holland. He had been employed by the Boy Scouts of America, by Dodge, Divco-Wayne Corp. and as a salesman for Eastland Truck Sales for many years. He was a graduate of Murray State University and a member of Gideon Baptist Church in Warren. He had served in the Pacific theater during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Kenton.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Armbruster; three sons, Joseph Holland of Fredricksburg, Va., James Holland of Piqua, Ky., and David Holland of Grand Rapids, Mich.; his daughter, Jean Shopa of Cincinnati; his brother, Col. David Holland of Nashville; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Holland.
