Monday afternoon, Stephanie Jones of Hornbeak ventured out to Health Quest in Union City and donated a pint of blood. Working on finding a vein was Lifeline phlebotomist Pamela Phillips. The Lifeline bloodmobile regularly travels from Jackson to Union City. Monday’s local blood drive was one of 11 blood drives scheduled this week by Lifeline Blood Services. The Jackson blood center requires about 500 donations a week and operates with a goal of collecting 27,000 units of blood annually. Lifeline Blood Services is an independent, non-profit community blood center that serves 19 hospitals across West Tennessee, including Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. None |
