Jimmy Cleo Basham, 75, of Tiptonville died Dec. 25, 2010, at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home’s Tiptonville Chapel, with Dr. Melvin Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Pallbearers will be Chris Basham, Ellis White, Bill Volker, Oscar Allen, Rob Dunn and Mike Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Pierce and David Dunn.
He was a retired employee of the Union City Goodyear plant, was a Baptist and had served as a paratrooper in the “Big Red One” Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Carol Bolding and her husband, Chris Bolding, of Troy; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary Basham and his wife, Beverly Basham, of Tiptonville; three sisters, Diane Henson, Barbara Jones and Judy Summers, all of Union City; and two grandchildren, Brandon Grooms of Troy and Zach Basham of Tiptonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman “Red” Basham and Lavern Woods Basham, and a brother, Johnny Basham.
