MPD executes search warrants, finds drugs

Varied amounts of illegal drugs in different locations were discovered by Martin Police Department officers over the weekend.

Aided by the 27th Judicial Drug Task Force and Special Response team, the MPD executed several search warrants and arrested several people from those warrants.

Approximately 18 grams of marijuana were located at the residence of Timothy Booker, 23, and Christina Stepp, 31, of 308B Oxford St, according to a press release issued by the department. 

Later on in the day, officers allegedly found 52.75 grams of marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia including a set of digital scales and plastic bags and  a notebook containing a ledger indicating drugs sales written in a female’s handwriting.

Officers also reportedly uncovered an unloaded .40 caliber pistol and $546 in cash at the residence of 23-year-old Matthew Heath, and 23-year-old LaFloyia Heath, at #15 E. Heights Circle in Martin. 

Finally, officers reportedly discovered approximately 28 grams of marijuana at the residence of an unnamed individual at B-3 Crismont Apartment on Olive Street. 

All persons were arrested and transported to the Weakley County Detention Center to await court arraignments. 

The suspects face felony drug charges while the Heaths also face weapons charges.
