Yayana Allen

Yayana Allen, 37, of Greenfield, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at the Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield with Pastor Keith Howard. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Greenfield.

Steve Shane, Carl Shane, Mitchell Shane, William Shane, Terry Shane, Leo Shane, Johnathan Shane, Joseph Shane and Robert Skinner served as pallbearers.

Ms. Allen was born Oct. 3, 1973 in Bradford, daughter of James Moore of Greenfield and the late Beverly A. Allen. She worked as an assembler for Akin Porter and attended Johnson Tabernacle CME in Greenfield, Ark.

Survivors include one son, Taja Allen of Greenfield; Heavenly Nicole Mack of Martin; five sisters, Beverly Joyce Coble and Renee Allen, both of Greenfield, Jennifer Nicole Bruce, Patricia Howard and Debra Reynolds, all of Bruce, Miss.; and two stepbrothers, Derek Rawls Reynolds and Andrew Lee Reynolds, both of Bruce.

Myra Ann Foster Brewer

Mrs. Myra Ann Foster Brewer, 80, of Martin, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Murphy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Brewer officiating. Burial was in Alamo Cemetery, Sharon.

James E. Brewer, Bill Brouillette, Johnny Hatchel and Eric Gordon served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Brewer was born Oct. 25, 1930 in Humphreys County, daughter of the late Herman and Martha Wright Foster. She was the widow of Edward E. Brewer, a retired custodial superintendent at the University of Tennessee at Martin and a member of East Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Brewer of Gleason and Robert Brewer of Memphis; one daughter, Joyce Ann Miles of Martin; one sister, Betty Cherry of Martin; and one granddaughter, Jessica Kay Brouillette.

She was also preceded in death one by one brother, Michael Brewer.

Reed Exum

Reed Exum, 66, of Martin, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at his residence.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Martin Church of Christ with Bro. John Forgy, Bro. Eddie Hutchens, Bro. Michael Gilbert and Bro. Rick Lawson officiating. Burial was in Gardner Cemetery with Murphy Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Tommy Hunt, Steve Butler, Rex Pate, Charlie Davis, Ron Roberts, Ronnie Phillips, Joe Smith and Van Swain served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Marshall Hazlewood, Tom Hazlewood, Mac Buckley, T. Joe Walker, Ed Neil White, Gerald Nanney, Larry Kelly, Jimmy Kelly, Pat Laycock, David Drodrick, Dr. Kenneth Carr, Johnny Stroup, Grant Collins, Carl Gatewood, Greg Hazlewood, Leon Hazlewood, Craig Hazlewood, David Hazlewood, Donald Hazlewood, Steve Frish, Don Wall, Dan Wall, Sam Wall, Bob Melton, James Cary and Donnie Jones.

Exum was born Feb. 10, 1944 in DeRidder, La., son of Mary Almeta Niles Cole of Martin and the late Willodene Reed Exum Sr.  He was a graduate of Martin High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a former partner of E & H Refrigeration of Martin and member of Gardner Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Kay Hazlewood Exum of Martin; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Sabrina Exum of Martin; one daughter Angie Exum of Jackson; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Vicki Exum of Martin; one sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Denny Simmons of Martin; and two grandchildren, Kaylen Williams and Emma Hope Williams, both of Jackson.

Memorials may be made to the Gardner Church of Christ, We Care Ministries and West Clinic, 100 N. Humphreys, Memphis, TN 38120.

George P. McDaniel

George P. McDaniel, 88, of Dresden, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010 at the Volunteer Community Hospital, Martin.

Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Old Bethel Cemetery, Palmersville with Bro. Donald Doster officiating with Bowlin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

McDaniel was born Oct. 12, 1922, son of the late John Henry and Lela May Ogg McDaniel. He was the widower of Ruby Pearl Harrison McDaniel. He was a World War II Army veteran, a city employee for the City of Dresden and a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Lorene Morgan and Iva Marie Davis, both of Martin.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Louise McDaniel, Velara Sawyers, Mary Kathryn Covington and Delia Francis Dilday; and one brother, John Wesley McDaniel.

Violet Rupayne Morris

Mrs. Violet Rupayne Woodruff Morris, 91, of Dresden, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at Regional Hospital of Jackson

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Victor Eskew officiating. Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery, Dresden.

Tyler Morris, Logan Morris. Ralph Cooper, Terry Woodruff, Kenneth Overcast and Alex Joyner served as pallbearers.

Mrs. Morris was born Aug. 20, 1919 in Weakley County, daughter of the late Rufus and Mamon Prince Woodruff. She was an LPN and member of Lebanon Church of Christ, Dresden.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jean Miletich of Rockford, Ill.; two sons, Ned Warren Morris of Paris and Dale H. Morris of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Joe Woodruff of Martin; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Woodruff Wight, Elna Woodruff Travis and Doris Woodruff Cooper; and three brothers, Gilbert Woodruff, Leland Woodruff and Carmon Woodruff.
