The Twin City Men’s Organization (TCMO) will be clothing even more children this year in the Twin Cities of Fulton and South Fulton as part of its annual program to provide food and clothing to less fortunate families at Christmas.
As a result, the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with TCMO and Letica Corp. to give a toy to each child when they receive their clothing on Dec. 11. Letica is holding a toy drive, but more toys will be needed, according to Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce executive director Thea Vowell.
In addition to the many children clothed so far, the TCMO will be clothing an additional 40 children. Mrs. Vowell said only 19 toys had been collected as of Friday afternoon.
Any individual or business that would like to provide a toy for a child can either call the chamber office at (731) 479-7029 to obtain the age and gender of a child so they may purchase the toy or they can donate $15-$20 to provide a gift.
Mrs. Vowell said South Fulton Baptist Church will be hosting a Christmas party for the children on Wednesday, which leaves little time to gather the toys.
“Our goal is to give each child a toy to unwrap the night of the party, so we will need a quick response to make this happen,” she said.
