The Hunter Hynds Unit of the United Methodist Women held its September meeting at Parnell’s in Martin. Thirteen members and five guests were present. Everyone enjoyed an evening on the patio by sharing in a time of great food, fun and fellowship.
President Chris Cheatham called the meeting to order.
After many prayer requests, Cheatham led the unit in prayer. The Purpose was recited in unison. Emily Haynes read the minutes and Leanne Parnell gave the treasurer’s report.
Cheatham and Jerry Darnell represented the unit at Annual Day. Hunter Hynds Unit received the following certificates: Reading Program, Gold Unit and Mission Studies.
Cheatham encouraged the members to save box tops and Campbell soup labels for Reelfoot Rural Ministry and suggested Grace Place Ministry as the next “Going the Extra Mile” project.
Kathy Forrester presented Chapter 1 of “A Woman of Faith” by Dee Brestin, by giving an impersonation of Esther. Roberta Peacock volunteered to cover Chapter 2 for the October meeting.
Leanne Parnell will be in charge of the program to be held Oct. 13 at Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church.wcp 10-12-10
