Samuel “Sam” Carmack Rachels, 82, of Greenfield, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010 at his residence.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Greenfield with Bro. Edmond Prater officiating. Burial was in Brock’s Cemetery, Greenfield.
Rachels was born Oct. 2, 1928 in Greenfield, son of the late Dewey and Essie Mayo Rachels. He was a  veteran of the United States Army and a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie Pritchard of Greenfield; one son, Eddie Rachels of Memphis; two sisters, Peggy Minyard and Janice Rachels, both of Greenfield; one brother, Hal Rachels of Greenfield and two grandchildren, Dustin Pritchard and Clint Pritchard, both of Greenfield.
