Carolyn Atkins Posted: Friday, October 8, 2010 2:02 pm The Messenger, October 8, 2010 Carolyn (Brown) Atkins, 87, of Union City died Oct. 8, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Union City. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at East View Cemetery, with Bobby Stewart officiating. Friends may call at White-Ranson Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday. Pallbearers will be Elwin Tanner, Jimmy Hayes, Mackie Austin and Norman Brown. The family requests that memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation, 225 North Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601-7633. She was born March 21, 1923, in Obion County, daughter of the late Ollie (Phillips) and R.C. Brown Sr. She married James Wells Atkins Nov. 17, 1974. He died May 23, 2007. She had been a teller at the former Old and Third National Bank in Union City for 33 years and was a member of Rives Church of Christ. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Tina Graham of Union City; her stepson and daughter-in-law, James Harvey and Kelly Atkins of Troy; her brother, R.C.
