Union City police are investigating a break-in that involved the theft of cigarettes from Little General No. 8 at 302 West Main St.
Police responded Thursday morning to a call about the front door glass being broken out at the convenience store, according to a Union City Police Department report.
Officers cleared the building and did not find anyone inside the store, where the bottom half of the front door glass was found to be broken out. A manager arrived and officers were able to view the store’s security tape — which indicated someone entered the store by crawling through the door and appeared to have taken some cigarettes before leaving on foot. The suspect was last seen going east on the parking lot, according to the report.
The incident apparently occurred late Wednesday night or very early Thursday.
