Virginia Davidson to run for Kenton mayor’s seat

Life-long Kenton resident Virginia Davidson is seeking the position of mayor for that city.
She worked for the City of Kenton a clerk-recorder for more than 29 years before being elected as mayor of the city for two terms.
Mrs. Davidson is a graduate of the former Kenton School and of a business school in Chicago. She has attended many seminars to better her education and is a West Star graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin.
While serving as mayor of Kenton, she received a mayor award and other honors.
She is married to Bruce Davidson, who is retired from Goodyear. They are the parents of Penny Petty and Jimmy Davidson. She is the daughter of Luther and Callie Neil.
Mrs. Davidson is a member of Kenton Church of God, the Women’s Club of Kenton and Trail Blazer Gibson County Chamber of Commerce.
“If elected, I hope to achieve getting the town back on track and out of the bad revenue problems they are having. I plan to clean up Kenton and bring back the 4th of July celebration,” she said.
