SEVIERVILLE — This year the world’s attention is drawn to one of the largest and most populous cities in the world — Shanghai (China), home of the 2010 World Expo.
Now the Smoky Mountain Palace in Sevierville is bringing the best of the Expo to the Smoky Mountains.
The Smoky Mountain Palace presents Shanghai Cultural Week Saturday through Tuesday.
“This is truly a one-of-a-kind cultural and educational experience,” according to Smoky Mountain Palace marketing manager Joan Brock.
“This event will provide guests with the opportunity to experience Shanghai’s culture as well as see some extraordinary images of the largest world’s fair site ever,” Brock said.
The event will feature two prestigious Shanghai musicians, Wang Qiaowei and Zhang Qianyuan, Kun Opera performer Zhao Lei, world-renowned painter Che Pengfei and the amazing Chinese acrobats of Cirque de Chine.
Also, this year’s lobby demonstrations and exhibitions will include a special video presentation of the Expo and photo exhibition of this remarkable city.
