KNOXVILLE (AP) — The University of Tennessee has named a classroom after NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, who started a new endowment for his alma mater.
Manning was the top speech communications graduate in spring 1997 and he received the College of Communication and Information’s Hileman Dis-tinguished Alumni Award in 2007.
The college said the new endowment is called the Peyton Manning Communi-cations Enrichment, which will provide funding support for educational initiatives within the college.
The classroom is located in room 317 of the Communications Building. Manning also has a road named after him near the university’s football stadium and a scholarship for freshman participating in the UT Honors Program.
