Tickets almost sold out for Beach Boys performance

The Beach Boys will celebrate their 50th anniversary with the Jackson Symphony Thursday at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in Jackson.
Started in 1961 (the same year as the Jackson Symphony), the Beach Boys have sold over 100 million albums worldwide and accolades include NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001, best selling single ever with “Kokomo,” Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, plus much more. Hit singles include “Surfin’ USA,” “California Girls,” “Good Vibrations,” “I Get Around,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and “Barbara Ann.” They will perform with the Jackson Symphony for its 18th Annual Legend Benefit concert.
This concert is the Jackson Symphony’s largest fundraiser. Past Legend artists include Kenny Loggins, Wynonna Judd, Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton-John, Ray Charles and Gladys Knight.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Tickets to the 2010 Legend concert range from $30 to $250 per person and are on sale now. All seating is reserved. Call (731) 427-6440 to order tickets.
