Miss Burkle to wed Bailey on Oct. 23

The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Katherine Elizabeth Burkle and Robert Russell Bailey, both of Memphis, are being announced today.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Burkle of Memphis. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wieschaus of Birmingham, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. LeMay of Memphis.
She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Memphis, where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. While attending U of M, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority.
She is a registered nurse at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, where she is specializing in pediatric neurology and neurosurgery.
The groom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bailey of South Fulton. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Taylor of South Fulton and Norma Bailey and the late Russell Bailey of Hornbeak.
He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in geology and a minor in business administration. While attending UT Martin, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He is a registered professional geologist at EnSafe Inc., an environmental consulting firm in Memphis specializing in environmental management and testing.
The couple will exchange vows at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Memphis on Oct. 23.
