Keylon Hyde
Offense

Keylon Hyde
    School:    Union City
    Grade:    Sophomore
    Height:    5-10
    Weight:    215
    Pos.: Fullback

By the numbers: Obion County’s top rusher who needs just 71 yards to reach 1,000 for the season, Hyde racked up 220 yards and three touchdowns in Union City’s 56-21 homecoming rout of Greenfield. Hyde hit paydirt on runs of one, four and 51 yards and now has nine TDs on the season. The performance marked his second such time of rushing for more than 200 yards in a game this season and represented the fourth time he’s gained 100 or more yards on the ground in the Tornadoes’ six games.
Sound bite: “In the second half, Keylon really ran the ball hard — like he’s supposed to all the time and like we need him to for four quarters,” UC head coach Darren Bowling said of Hyde’s Week 6 peformance. “No doubt he’s capable and no doubt we need him to be solid for four quarters. And if he can put together a complete game and continue to pound the ball inside, his numbers could be off the charts.”
HONORABLE MENTION: LaDevin Fair, OC junior running back, rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns and also accounted for a third TD on a five-yard pass from Trey Phipps. Khiry Lewis, SF sophomore wingback, caught a long pass from JaQuay Garmon and completed a 97-yard scoring play on the Devils’ first snap and also had a 26-yard touchdown run in the South Fulton’s  33-7 victory over Halls. Nathan Ward, OC senior receiver, caught six passes for 71 yards and remains Obion County’s top receiver with 25 catches for the season.
