Martin celebration set Posted: Wednesday, October 6, 2010 3:33 pm The Messenger, October 6, 2010 An Oktoberfest celebration of the fall season is being planned in downtown Martin at Festival Park Saturday. This year, the Martin Historic Business District and Rolling Thunder® TN Chapter 6 have partnered to bring together “bikes and little babes.” Beginning early that morning, community members will line the park for the rummage sale. Children’s inflatables will be at the park while RT TN Ch. 6 opens the gates for its annual bike show. The entry fee for the bike show is $10. Cash prizes and trophies will be given away and the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite bikes in a variety of categories. Concessions will be offered by Pepsi-MidAmerica and there will also be snow cones, popcorn, hamburgers and hot dogs available. Later that afternoon, a tailgate party is planned. Live music will also fill the air throughout the day. Face-painting and pumpkin carving will be available for children. A beer-tasting event and concert hosted by The Gap is also planned.
