Lemmie Smith, 90, of Hornbeak died Oct. 4, 2010, at Bright Glade Nursing Home in Memphis.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with Kevin Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday until the hour of services.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Derrick, Matt Aytes, Chris Beavers, Gaylon Long, J.R. Smith and Greg Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Moore, Aaron Smith, Larry Smith, Charles Harris, John Asbille and Johnny Guy.
The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
He was born May 15, 1920, in Obion County, son of the late W.L. and Lillie (Bearden) Smith. He was a retired farmer and a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Hannah (Huffstutter) Smith; two daughters, Marilyn Ainsworth of Knoxville and Linda Adams of Memphis; his brother, David Smith of Obion; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Claude Smith Sr., Luther Smith and Bobbie Smith; and four sisters, Nola Richmond, Maude Burton, Lorene Boone and Myrtle Culver.
