A Martin woman and a baby were injured Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Fulton County, Ky.
Lisa Boyd, 35, and 8-month-old Cali Boyd sustained injuries in an accident that occurred about 6:55 a.m. on KY 166 at the two-mile marker, according to a Kentucky State Police press release.
They were both flown from the scene by Air Evac Lifeteam and taken to Regional Medical Center (the Med) in Memphis.
The KSP reported Ms. Boyd was westbound on KY 166 in a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer when, after passing a vehicle and re-entering her lane of travel, she lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons. The vehicle left the roadway, entered a field and overturned multiple times.
Ms. Boyd, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. The baby remained secured in a car seat inside the vehicle, according to the KSP.
The KSP was assisted at the scene by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Fulton County Jail personnel, Twin City Ambulance Service, Fulton County Rescue Squad and Air Evac.
The crash remains under investigation by the KSP.
