Michael C. “Doggie” McDaniel, 62, of Union City died Oct. 3, 2010, at his home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Pat Murdock and Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery near Union City.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 this evening.
Pallbearers will be Teddy Vandeveer, Jason Jeffries, Paul Clark, Keith Ransom, Doug Montgomery, Dr. Steve Beachum and Scottie Craddock. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Mathenia, Jamie Roach and members of the Obion County Rescue Squad.
The family requests that memorials be made to Baptist Hospice in Union City.
He was born July 19, 1948, in Obion County, son of the late Harold and Molene (Caldwell) McDaniel. He married the former Beverly Jane Ransom May 23, 1969. She survives. He had been employed at the former Reelfoot Packing Co. and had also worked at Union City Coca Cola, E.W. James & Sons Supermarket and Dominos Pizza in Union City.
He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church near Union City.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Vicki McDaniel of Union City; his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Rick Pugh of Union City; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer McDaniel, and three sisters and two brothers.
