Anthony DeWayne Sturdivant Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony “Dee” Sturdivant of Union City and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Chatmon Sturdivant and Essie Ray Johnson, all of Gadsden, Ala., recently received recognition of his accomplishments from Tennessee Rehabilitation center in Smyrna.
Sturdivant, a 2008 graduate of Union City High School, successfully completed course requirements in the Warehouse Occupational skill training program, where he received a vocational training certificate for shipping and receiving.
While in the program, he achieved the necessary completion of work in areas such as inventory control, forklift, four-wheel cart, shipping and receiving, pallet jack, stock picker and two-wheel operation. He has also completed a training internship with Home Depot as a requirement for graduation from TRC.
At his graduation, Sturdi-vant was privileged to wear a gold honor cord to call attention to his hard work and many achievements. He later received a certificate of completion for successfully completing the transitional Living Skills Training Program, which teaches students life skills.
